Google Maps - Street View

Google has extended its Street view service. It now covers 95% of homes in the UK, Perranuthnoe included!

Google Street View is a technology featured in Google Maps and Google Earth that provides 360° horizontal and 290° vertical panoramic views from a row of positions along the street (one every approximately 10 or 20 metres) for many streets in the world, from a height of about 2.5 metres. It was launched on May 25, 2007, and has gradually expanded.

From today 360° pictures are available of most areas of the village. Although it's fun to play with is it an invasion of privacy?

  1. I suppose it depends what you were doing when they took the photos!!

  2. At least the street car managed to read the sign "no vehicles beyond this point" at the Cabin!
