Village SOS

Village SOS is an exciting rural initiative from the BIG Lottery Fund and the BBC, challenging villages across the UK to come up with brilliant ideas for brand new businesses. The best ideas will receive funding of up to £400,000 each from the Big Lottery Fund.

If anyone has any ideas for our Village please contact Kevin on 711808 or make a comment below to add your suggestion - the deadline is 14th August.

  1. Village SOS
This can be a community based project, for example, if the village felt the need for a 'proper' village shop, run by the people of the village as a co-operative.

  2. Or indeed the village could have a professional
festival event, run as a business or community
association. For example The Gardens Open Day could become a garden festival or the themes of music and poetry within the village could be expanded upon. Money raised could then be used within the village for any number of community purposes.
If you are interested and have ideas then let myself or Kevin know at Village Crafts, but we have to act very quickly.........
