Updated - Perranuthnoe Oil Group

Please see comment below if you ARE or WANT to be in this group

I have recieved an email today which I think you should all be aware of:

I was a little concerned at the size of my oil bill after the recent delivery from Watsons (Perranuthnoe group) so I rang round various oil companies for an on-the-spot price. I'm sorry to report that, even with the group discount, Watsons were six pence per litre more expensive than the best price (Semmens)I have now withdrawn from the group and am left wondering how much less I could have paid over the last couple of years!

Best check your prices everyone!

Perranuthnoe Christmas Tree 2010

Our Christmas tree will once again be in the village for all to see and will be lit on Friday 17th December

The approximate schedule of events is:

Lynfield Craft Centre Christmas Extravaganza
6.00pm onwards

6.00pm – 7.00pm
  • Jenny of Toppers Too invites you for complimentary “drinks and nibbles”.

6.00pm onwards
  • Val & Kevin of Village Crafts invite you for Cornish mulled apple juice and offer 10% discount on purchases for this evening only.
Tree Illumination and Carols
  • The tree will be blessed and illuminated and the carols begin. We hope that everyone will join in the carol singing (bring a torch to light up your hymn sheet!).
  • Father Christmas will arrive with a gift for all village children (under the age of twelve).
Hot sausage rolls and mince pies will be handed around during the carols followed by punch, made to a secret recipe especially for the occasion at the Victoria Inn (courtesy of Stewart & Anna).

It has become the tradition for us to ask for “volunteers” to bake (or supply) a dozen sausage rolls and/or mince pies, which will be handed round at the above event. If you are able to contribute you can find a copy of the slip here please fill it in and return it to Andrea at The Old Post Office by Friday 10th December.

Place your contribution in the box located in the garden of An Gwythow (Diane Hutchinson) on Friday 17th December.

Village children under 12 years of age, (present on the night) will be eligible for a gift from Father Christmas. Additional gifts can be arranged for grandchildren and/or visitors at a cost of £7.50 per child.

A copy of this information and the slip to fill in can be found here

Rare Breed Heifers

Just to let everyone know I now have 2 rare breed heifers by the name of Daisy and Buttercup. They are Whitebred Shorthorns of which there are only 250 registered cows in the world. They are a small dual purpose cow - good for beef and milking. They came down from the Scottish boarders on Monday (thats where most of them can be found). When they are old enough I will breed them with a bull of that breed at Pendeen where 6 other cows are grazing the moors. They are housed in one of my fields at present but if anyone would like to see them - just give me a phone 711875 Karen
