Grand Opening - Perranuthnoe Church Room
All residents are invited to the
Grand Opening
of the newly refurbished
Perranuthnoe Church Room
Saturday 29th January 11am
The ribbon will be cut at 11am then expect tea, coffee or a glass of wine, light nibbles and a short presentation followed by time to look around and chat with others about future activities. The room will remain open until 4pm for any afternoon visitors.
This building is now available for use by any member of the community, regardless of their faith. We hope this will be a whole village community event. Everyone is welcome.
Project Aims
- To open up the building for use by the wider community
- To make the building accessible to all as far as is reasonably practicable.
- To make best use of the space available
What’s New?
The main room is now fully damp-proofed and re-decorated with a new floor, a fitted hearing loop, extra electrical sockets, built-in lockable cupboards and spaces in which to stow the folding-furniture. The kitchen has been extended and now has a new cooker, extractor fan, extra electrical sockets, a stable-door fire-escape and a small serving hatch. We have use of a folding ramp to assist wheel-chair users into the main room and we plan to locate one or two sturdy arm chairs close to the WC entrance. The WC is one large cubicle fitted with a disability alarm, extra grab-rails, toddler seat and baby-changing facilities. Special community noticeboards are being ordered for inside and out to avoid posters blocking the light from the windows. A separate store has been built for bulky, outdoor furniture, freeing up activity space within the building. To hear more about activities, please come along to the Grand Opening!
Room Fees
£6 per hour
£12.50 half a day
£25 whole day
To check availability or to make a room booking, please call John on (01736) 711487 or email perranuthnoechurchroom@hotmail.co.uk
Thank You
We would like to thank all the people who have given their time and energy either by raising funds or by developing the project. Funding was gratefully received from Awards for All Lottery Fund, the Church and Community fund, the Open Gardens fundraising team, the Church’s own funds and the many generous private donations.
Thank you all!

Wanted For Recycling
We are in dire need of packaging for the wool sales, anything from padded envelopes, card or strong envelopes, corrugated cardboard, bubble wrap, brown paper, plastic mailing bags in fact any thing which could be re-used to send out our wool orders. This will be an on-going request and if people can save for us and then drop the used packaging etc into the shop that would be great. I hate to buy new stuff when I could be recycling.
Also if anybody has a video recorder or videos they don't want, I can recycle these over to my daughter Emma in France.
