Last night two Pitt Bull/Staffy type dogs attacked the Whitebred Shorthorn cows in Perranuthnoe. One of the cows was badly injured and ended up having to be sedated with a vet working on her for two hours, she needed 14 stitches. All of them have bite marks and slashes from the dogs. One of the dogs was shot and killed at the scene as they were completely out of control and would not leave the cows alone. The dogs are believed to be from the Marazion area.
Updates will follow as and when more information is available.
This is such awful news. Pity both dogs weren't shot. The owner needs prosecuting when found.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you Karen. You have had a lot of bad luck with the cows and I wish them a speedy recovery. I hope the dog owner can be found and prosecuted.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this. Thinking of you Karen and wishing Guenevere a speady recovery. Fully support you, hope they get the owner.
ReplyDeletePoor Karen and cows Pitbull's are nasty dogs some times and i hope that your cows get alot better soon. Those scars and cuts sound really horrid.

I have just seen Karen who was late delivering my milk order and she asked me to pass this message on to Kay for posting on to the village website but as it is rather late in the evening I am putting the message on this way. "The cows will live, they are obviously traumatised but are all eating and drinking." Karen has a meeting with the police at 8pm this evening and will continue to request that the second dog is located and put down. She also wants to say "thank you to everyone who has shown their support and concern, those who have sent their best wishes and given offers of help and she will let Kay have a further update for the website tomorrow."
ReplyDeleteThanks Val.
