As a resident my view is that the parking up the road from St Pirans way up to Perran Crossroads is ridiculous. There is barely any room to get through and I have had to reverse 300 yards because of the parking. It is getting bad enough that heaven forbid if a fire engine or ambulance was need in the village it wouldnt be able to get through!! There is sufficient and relatively cheap parking at the beach. We need double yellow lines that ARE ENFORCED! We live at The Mews and have occasionally had the entrance blocked by parked cars. People just dont care and park anywhere.
Same happened to me the other day. The best thing to do is go along to the Church Room on Thursday and see what they are proposing as this has all been discussed before. Hopefully they will have come up with something effective.
Be careful what you wish for. A lot of visitors are Cornish "locals" walking the dog and taking refreshment in the cafes. We do this at least twice a week and park in the road as the car parks are not as cheap as you make out. (You can do the same at Praa Sands for £1). Local money is vital for your pub, cafes and small business units. We also entertain our visitors in your village again spending money. Also double yellow lines everywhere will cause problems for your own families visiting and for deliveries etc
Anybody know if the proposals are available online? I couldn't make it during the week and Google yields nothing. I'd hate to see yellow lines everywhere but a few short lengths, to provide passing places, would be a good solution.
